Rival Sons Announce U.K & European Summer 2024 shows

Rival Sons announce U.K. & European summer 2024 shows and release special behind the scenes interview with Rolling Stone

Double Grammy-nominated band Rival Sons will return to Europe this Summer for a slew of festival dates across the continent plus some headline shows taking them to some markets they haven’t visited in years.

Scott Holiday aka Mr Fuzzlord comments: “Summer in Europe 2024, we can’t wait. We missed the EU summer festivals last year as we were touring with the Smashing Pumpkins - so this is a very happy and exciting return for us this year, including tons of great festival dates! We’ll also be peppering in a handful of headline shows AND we FINALLY get to include a solid week in Spain! Elated. Muchas Gracias! Been way too long. Get your tix! Really looking forward to be getting back out there!”

Like a gang of tried-and-true mavericks, Rival Sons march to the beat of their own drum. Right when you think you’ve got them figured out, the Los Angeles quartet—Jay Buchanan [vocals, acoustic guitar], Scott Holiday [lead guitar], Mike Miley [drums], and Dave Beste [bass]—will flip the script and surprise you once more. Their very emergence is inexplicable in the best way. They never fit into any era or category, yet their uncompromising spirit might be more necessary today than ever. A sense of panache, a dash of mystery, and an unapologetic commitment to the craft of rock ‘n’ roll underscore their deep catalogue highlighted by the likes of Pressure & Time [2011], Great Western Valkyrie [2014], and Feral Roots [2019], which garnered two GRAMMY® Award nominations in the categories of “Best Rock Album” and “Best Rock Performance” for the single “Too Bad.” Meanwhile, the Rock Radio #1 hit “Do Your Worst” has reeled in 70 million streams and counting. At the same time, hand-picked by Black Sabbath for their final tour, they’ve held their own on stage with the greats like The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, and Lenny Kravitz in addition to blowing the roof off television staples such as The Late Late Show with James Corden, Jools Holland and Jimmy Kimmel.

In 2023, they continued to subvert expectations with two full-length LPs—DARKFIGHTER and LIGHTBRINGER [Low Country Sound/Atlantic Records]. Though the genesis of these albums is intertwined, they also speak to the band’s perpetual progression forward.

The band took the DARKFIGHTER on the road across the U.S.A and then over to Europe, selling out shows across the continent and kicking off in the U.K. with the release of LIGHTBRINGER, their second album of 2023. One of the highlights of that tour was a show at L’Olympia, Paris.

Jay Buchanan: “That night at L’Olympia last year was not only the pinnacle of the entire tour, it was as if our long love affair with Paris had somehow been officiated and legitimized in ceremony witnessed by all present. My God I fucking LOVE Paris and cannot wait to come back to you.”

Discussing the journey of Rival Sons during the interview Jay Buchanan states: “For me, in my pursuit to become as fully realised of a person as I can be before I check-out someday; I think that telling my truth as articulately as I’m able to, as much as I’m able to understand myself, it is my truth and it feels that way (this is my aim). And singing is a vulnerability and it’s a bare-naked interaction. So, it’s my intention to draw people in and to make people feel less alone with whatever I’m singing. With whatever we’re doing on stage, my intention is to connect and to be a present as possible.”

Rival Sons have reignited and recharged rock ‘n’ roll with towering vocals, uncompromising guitar playing, and thunderous grooves to enthusiastic fans the world over. As Jay states in the Rolling Stone interview: “This is the sweet life… come on, we go from country to country and town to town just throwing a big party and just feeling so much love and joy that it can’t be contained”
